First
weekend in Italy so it was good to have a bit more free time after settling in
at San Carlo College.
Today we all
went to lake Como, which was about a half hour coach journey away from our
hotel. It was probably the coldest day we have had since we got to Italy so all
the snow and water had turned to ice and it was quite slippery on the
pavements. I didn't really mind though because all of us were sliding around on
the ice and having little football games with each other by passing blocks of
ice around while we went around the village.
We also planned to have a boat ride on the lake Como, which
I was looking forward too. Jack and Kiri looked into getting a tour boat for us
all, but once everyone saw the little peddle boats there was no changing our
decision on how to view the lake. The boats seated four although they looked
like could only seat about two! Jack Tom and Nick were in my boat and with
every tour boat that came passed to drop off and collect people, we would steer
and pedal towards it so we could ride the wave. Soon everyone joined in and we
would all race each other to get to the wave first. This was so fun and we all
had a good laugh. Once we got off the boats no one could feel their fingers and
toes so we all went McDonalds for a hot choc. Being on the lake was the
highlight of my day!
