The first day started
off badly! Woke up especially early to get a shower, only to find that there
was no hot water, icy cold showers aren’t fun. However arriving at San Carlo School
was a culture shock. The teaching methods are so different! However
San Carlo is amazing! There must be over 5 floors, a swimming pool, and gym. We
got back to the hostel to find that the hot water was now working… this gave us
a boost!
The second day at San
Carlo was more structured. We arrived to be told that we would be leading a
whole lesson to 13yr olds. This was very daunting considering we had observed a
teacher the previous day struggling to keep control. However it all went well,
Olivia and I lead a warm up and Eddie and Liam lead another. I thought this was
a good idea as we were able to then swap the groups and give the students two
different styles of warm up. We then went into lead a game of handball I
thought that this was a success as the children looked to really enjoy
themselves. The second day of Italian lessons went better. We got back to the
hostel, had a power nap. Then we went out for some food. Spent most of the
night sat in the common room just talking to other people in the hostel.
